Although I’ve known for a long time how the Grisaille technique works, I’ve never before had the opportunity to take part in a workshop on it. Recently, as part of the Enamelist Society’s Zoom programme, Mer Almagro ran a two-part workshop – two hours one Monday and 2 hours a week later. In the States these were afternoon sessions, but of course we are five hours ahead so I was digesting dinner and had thought it best to forego my usual glass of wine. It was worth it.
