Guild of Enamellers – Social Media Policy

Purpose

This policy sets out how social media is used to promote the Guild of Enamellers and to support communication between members. Public Social Media

  • All official public social media accounts representing the Guild of Enamellers shall be created, managed and controlled by the Publicity Officer.
  • Regions are encouraged to send photographs, news and other material to the Publicity Officer for possible publication through the Guild's official social media channels.

Regional Communication Groups

  • Regions may operate private social media groups (for example WhatsApp or private Facebook groups) solely for communication between members of that region.
  • Regional officers are responsible for ensuring that membership of these groups is kept up to date by promptly adding new Guild members and removing people who are no longer members of the Guild or the region, as appropriate.

Copyright and Consent

  • Members must only submit photographs, text and other material that they own or have permission to use.
  • Where photographs show identifiable individuals, appropriate consent should be obtained before publication.

Standards of Behaviour

  • Anyone posting on behalf of the Guild or a Region must communicate in a respectful and professional manner and must not publish material that could bring the Guild into disrepute.

Use of the Guild Logo

  • The Guild logo must not be used on any external social media account, website or other public-facing material without the prior approval of the Publicity & Events Sub-Committee.

Ownership of Accounts

  • All official Guild social media accounts, usernames, passwords and associated email addresses are the property of the Guild.
  • On a change of Publicity Officer or other authorised administrator, access to all accounts and associated credentials must be transferred promptly to the incoming officer or other person authorised by the Trustees.

Responsibility

All members using social media in connection with Guild activities are expected to comply with this policy and with any other Guild policies, these can be found under ‘Exec→Governing Documents)
