Gillie began the workshop by sharing two portraits done by her grandchildren, ages 8 & 5. “This is what we are aiming for today”. The goal was to use colour to create pattern, layers, and imagery.

- Pre-enamelled White Steel Plaques from Vitrum Signum
- HB pencil
- Brushes
- Ceramic or Glass tile
- Sunshine onglaze enamel powder pigments (lead-based metal oxides) from Ferro or Ceradel
- Uni-Media, water-based underglaze or onglaze media
- New Clay Plasticine
- Water-based Resist
- Quill Pen – Nikko make
- Pen Oil (Copaiba balsam oil + Aniseed oil)
- Zest-it – cleaning solvent for the pen and brushes that are used with the oil
