On a beautiful crisp Saturday in late January, 8 members of Region 6 gathered to enamel beads in the style of Janet Notman. Carole Lockwood had been taught by Janet to do this quick exciting and rather scary technique.
Copper beads ( bought from America) were placed on two steel wire mandrels (approx I mm wire can be held in a pin vice or similar) and rotated in a very hot flame, then while still hot, rolled in dry enamel powder and refired. Two or three layers produced some very satisfying results.
