Harry (Nicholson) was already there when we arrived and was working away with his gas-fired kiln. We were quickly caught up in his techniques of using whites and soft, super-soft and liquid fluxes, to create atmospheric 'veiled' effects on his copper pieces, inspired by the sea coast and landscape around Whitby. (He cannot keep up with the demand for these in a local gallery.)
