Region 7 Workshop – Betty Butler’s High Firing Technique

On Saturday 27th April, members of Reg. 7 had a very enjoyable day at South Norwood Adult Education Centre trying out Betty Butler's high firing technique.
Betty first demonstrated on a previously counter enamelled 3" copper square using a card stencil cut into four quarter circles as illustrated in Diagram 1.
Sections 1, 2, 3, and 4 were removeable (like a toddler’s jigsaw puzzle). To make removal easier, each had a little tag made of masking tape. The shaded part (No. 5) was larger than the piece of copper.
