In the Summer Journal I hoped to encourage all Guild m embers to have a play with Carol's theme of TEXTURE: to collect photoreferences and cut-outs of textural inspirations and maybe even display them in a back-up resource book, together with notes, working sketches and ideas for designs.

Foil, run through a "wave" paper crimper, the top once only, the botton part twice.
In this Journal, with beginners in mind, I have put together a collection of test samples, mostly worked in 006" soft temper, copper shim bought mail-order from Fred Aldous of Manchester www.fredaldous.co.uk , some may inspire youto experiment with techniquesyou have not tried previously.

For this overall texture, annealed foil was positioned over grit-impregnated butyl, used for masking the edges of pond liners, and burnished hard.
