My first attempt at copper repoussé used standard 22 gauge copper, cut with snips and shaped using pliers, hammer, large screwdriver and nail (the last two were used as punches).

The copper was cut to the above pattern, annealed by heating on the kitchen stove and dropping into water in the sink. I shaped it, using the floor carpet as a soft surface on which to hammer out the form.
