In this workshop we experimented with texturing metal and texturing enamel through applying layers and exploring under and over firing. The aim was to gain an understanding of how enamels behave on a textured surface depending on their thickness/thinness, the colours underneath and fluxes.
Penny began the workshop by showing some of her own samples. She demonstrated how to make different marks in metal by using a variety of stamps, hammers, metal mesh and stencils.
