Making an area of an enamel piece black
Nancy Levine
Cover the areas to be left bare with a stencil and sift your first regular coat of flux or transparent enamel over the piece.
Remove the Stencil and dust the protected areas with a fine drift of soft flux. You should still be able to see the shine on the copper. (I use an old Thompson soft flux, number 426, but you should be able to substitute your current soft flux).
