You tried fixing cloisonné wires by sinking them into the first coat of enamel. After the first firing the wires had shifted and some of them were waving to you because they had not quite sunk in. If this sounds only too familiar, try Ann Smith's method of gluing them onto the bare metal with gum tragacanth (Klyr Fire works too) before applying the first coat of enamel.
