It is worthwhile trying as many of the ideas put forward as possible so you can visualise the possibilities and artistry of this unique enthralling craft, and make the most of the vibrance of enamel colours.

TRANSFERS. Competent artists will want to use the special finely ground painting enamels for their enamelled pictures but the less experienced, and beginners, can decorate their work with commercially prepared enamelling transfers. There is a wide selection to choose from, mostly pictorial and with some designed to fit specific copper blanks exactly. These transfers are made of painting enamel printed on a sheet of protective lacquer, which will burn off when fired, all mounted on some supporting paper.
