An Introduction to Enamelling Copper Repousse Part ll
Joan Bolton King

The last Journal contained some of my ideas for preparing pieces of copper shim for enamelling. Part II deals with enamelling and mounting your work.
ENAMELLING
The basic principles for enamelling on copper of any thickness apply equally to repoussé work but with some specific problems to overcome.
The pieces must be thoroughly clean before the enamel is applied. Avoid spoiling the delicate shapes: - pickle, scrub gently with scouring powder and a small bristle brush, wash and dry. (Old liquid enamel or 'fines' collected when washing enamel make excellent scouring agents.)
