Two Painters in Enamel – Janice de’Maine and Monica Larkin
In this issue of the Journal, I have included reports and notes on the work of two Guild members, whose speciality lies in painting in enamel - but their styles are totally different. One painter is Monica Larkin who is known for her sensitive and delicately executed pictures; the other is Janice de'Maine, whose work is at the other end of the scale – almost microscopically miniature and presented mostly as jewellery.
A newer member of the Guild, Janice made an impressive 'debut' at the Leicester AGM/Conference where she not only received her Craftsman certificate, but carried off the Chairman's Rose Bowl and the Maureen Carswell Award for her enamelling.
