Ann began by emphasising to us the importance of grinding our enamels just before we were ready to use them. We should only grind what we could use within 24 hours so as to avoid unnecessary waste.

Start with a pestle and mortar. Ann prefers her agate one that she had specially made, but the standard porcelain ones are more than adequate.
