I am writing this during a hot weekend in June - rather early for the autumn issue in October, but our wonderful editor is gadding off - so please allow for my still being in holiday mode. These two panels are among several that I have used when encouraging adult students to design larger works by joining small, rectangular, enamelled pieces together.

Big 3

The long, thin format is one of the simplest shapes for pictorial pieces as we only have the horizontal edges on which to match lines and colours. Each enamel panel ends up 14" high x 4", mounted on a board 171/2" x 7".
