Description of your entry:
Steampunk originates in science fiction, but with a retro concept that imagines a world without electricity or internal combustion engines. Everything is powered by steam and controlled by clockwork. There are lots of pipes and tubes, cogs and gears, and clock faces. I like the look and it has dragged me away from my usual green/blue colour palate.
This pendant was etched on fine silver with silver nitrate to two different levels. The metal was masked using vinyl, cut on a Silhouette Portrait 3. The design was drawn using 2D Design software.
Once etched the enamel was built up with mostly Schauer and Milton Bridge transparent vitreous enamels.
