Handmade enamel jewellery and artwork by Tilly Wilkinson.
Enamels often react with the metal they are fired onto, producing unexpected colours and effects. Whilst this is a stumbling block for the beginner it is one of the characteristics that Tilly loves about enamel. To use enamel well requires experience and knowledge of the likely effects that can be achieved if the enamel is fired for different times and at different temperatures. Tilly has spent the last twenty years experimenting with different enamelling techniques and produces a range of items from wall pieces to 3 dimensional work, jewellery and bowls. Her current work has a narrative element to it and is illustrative of the comings and goings of the wildlife in her own garden and in the wider landscape around her.
She is a past Chair of the Guild, holds CGE and is currently the regional representative for the North West of England and North Wales.

Keith Seldon is a jeweller and enameller but above all, he is an enamel artist. The skills that create this difference have been developed over many years and welcomed by a variety of clients:
* Leading jewellers, including Garrards, Asprey and Cartier.
* National institutions, for both design and restoration work.
* Private clients, seeking a unique gift that will truly endure.
You may imagine by the above that Keith is a household name, when in reality, his work is best known to other specialists. The Faberge piece you have restored, or the wonderfully jewelled, enamel brooch you purchase in London may well have seen Keith's hand. Part of the covenant between retailers and fine crafstmen.

My favourite technique is cloisonné on silver, but I also enjoy the freedom of working on copper. I look to employ texture under the enamel and I achieve this by a variety of techniques from traditional engraving on silver to sgraffito on copper. I often include embellishments of semi precious stones, gold or even found beach pebbles within a piece. I also enjoy the challenge of producing 3 dimensional pieces such as my handbags and "Cakey Boxes".

This site will give you information about the art forms in which I like to work. These are mainly ENAMELLING (the art of bonding two seemingly incompatible materials: glass and metal) and BATIK. My batik paintings are made on silk or on cotton, and sometimes even on paper. There are also examples of graphic work (lino cuts, silkscreens, etchings or drawings) and of ceramic work, as well as a list of recent exhibitions.
