Joint Guild/BSOE Exhibition – Birmingham School of Jewellery: 11th November -13th December 2013
The Guild has been invited to exhibit in the atrium of the Birmingham School of Jewellery together with members of the British Society of Enamellers from 11th November to 13th December 2013. The Jewellery School is situated in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter.
The display area atrium is a large airy space with well-lit, secure cabinets. This will not be a selling exhibition but it provides a wonderful opportunity to introduce the wide variety of modern enamelling to both students and the public. It will be open weekdays only (not weekends). We intend to hold a private view and are also considering the joint production of a high quality catalogue for sale to raise money for the organisations.
Please note there is no hanging space but pieces could be placed into horizontal (but not illuminated) cases.
This will be a two-stage selected exhibition, with the selection panel comprising two Guild members, two Society members and a member of the School staff.
You should include the dimensions and brief description of the techniques used for each piece. Members can submit a maximum of five images (pieces) for consideration.
Once images have been selected, final selection of the actual pieces will take place during the second week in October - (date to be advised) and the same panel will meet again to select the final pieces to be exhibited.
