It's all in the detail - 2023

Description of your entry:
Inspired by the Victorian art of arranging Diatoms under a microscope this panel allows the viewer to create their own changeable Diatom arrangements. A steel backplate supports the enamelled Diatoms which have magnets set into their mounts enabling the enamels to be moved. The centre piece is also a brooch. This sits on a needle felted cushion when not being worn. The Diatom shapes were made by press-forming and main enamelling techniques are liquid enamel with sgraffito and sifting. Silver foil has been applied in areas with transparent colour over.
