  • Description of your entry: I have recently discovered the art of the mid-century modern era and become an admirer of those bold colours and forms.
I made this bonbonniere from copper sheet by bending and soldering it, drilled the holes and then sifted a transparent dark grey enamel onto the outer surface and wet packed a thin layer of clear flux onto the inner.
I cut and domed fine silver discs and enamelled them with transparent yellow, dark green and black.
After the firings, the colourful discs were attached to the body with sterling silver rivets.
A polished copper disc decorated with an enamelled cup serves as the cover for the vessel.
A recycled glass bottle inside makes sure that no food contamination can occur when the bonbonniere is used.
