Tip: Making lines in Enamel
We all know that straight lines can be made with enamel threads – if they don’t shrink or roll over with shock when you lay them in the kiln. Stencils are more useful as the lines can be any shape you like – but edges can be soft and very fine lines don’t always work. Painting needs a steady hand. Pencil lines on matted enamel can’t be rubbed out, nor can sgrafitto – unless you wipe it all off and start again.
