If you want to try appliqué Champleve but don’t feel able to cope with the soldering, try sticking the two layers together with enamel. This is obviously not such a strong method and you have the disadvantage of being able to see a line of enamel round the edge of the work, but is fun to try and you can conceal the edge with a frame or put your pierced layer in the base of a flat-bottomed dish.
