Projects for Beginners to Enamelling on Silver - 2 - Silver Pendant

Ruby Tomes & Dorothy Cockrell

The aim of this project is to use thin layers of transparent enamel to colour and show off a pattern on the silver. As the enamel is thin and the metal curved, there is no need for counter enamelling.

Materials:

Rectangle of 0.8mm thick silver (or copper) measuring 2cm x 2.5 cm

Steel block or stake

A texturing hammer or punches to make a texture

Hand drill or Dremel type with 1mm drill bit
