Teaching opportunity, Singapore

Royal insignia (www.royalinsignia.com) are looking for an enamel artist to come to Singapore to give training on enamel applications. They will of course pay a fee and all cost for accommodation but  need someone who can train the company enamellers on advanced level techniques. They already have knowledge on the basics and want their production staff to upgrade their knowledge.

Display cabinets for sale

Following on from the Pannett exhibition in Whitby, we now have several of the display cases that we used available for sale to members at their cost price of £115. They are in untreated larch, approx 60 x 42 x 5 cm internally with a lockable safety glass front panel that slides in and out from the side. The backboard is soft enough to take push pins and is faced in off-white fabric. If you would like to reserve one please contact David Cowling: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.. They’ll be available for collection at conference (or other separate arrangement made with David).

Conference Applications 2016

As some members may be away when the journal comes out, and some workshops book up very quickly, details of the workshops and conference cost will again be available here on the website from the same time as the journal should be received (Dec 28th).

It is hoped that the majority of applications will still be submitted by post accompanied by a cheque (or cheques) but we will also accept e-mail notification of workshop preferences and, if necessary, payment. This can be made by direct transfer (not paypal) to the Guild’s bank account after emailing for the necessary details.

To try and keep allocation as fair as possible and avoid timing discrepancies, we will not "open" for applications until 4th January and although workshop places will then be provisionally allocated, these will not be confirmed unless payment has been received and will not be held for more than 7 days. If by any chance a workshop is over-subscribed on the 4th Jan then a ballot will be held.

Please note that emails must be sent to the conference secretary Jane Sheppard This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. and not via "contact the guild" here on the website. Jane can also be contacted on 01900 823095 if you have any queries.

All Fired Up 2014

Region 4 has an exhibition, "All Fired Up" at Bilston Craft Gallery from 15.11.14 - 13.12.14

With work from eleven members in six display cases and on the walls, there are a variety of techniques on display on copper, silver and steel. The exhibition shows work from newer members of the group combined with pieces from more experienced enamellers including a founder member of the Guild. The gallery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays with details available from the link below. I am greatly indebted to those who have given up their energy and time in creating this exhibition (we have been waiting for a slot at the Gallery following a suggestion I made back about five years ago!) from those who typed labels to those who physically set it up and hope you will be able to visit.
